Maryann is a dynamic and dedicated privacy professional with over 18 years of experience in the areas of access and privacy. Maryann built and managed the privacy and access program for a large school division in Alberta.  Her standout proficiency lies in her adeptness at instilling a culture of privacy through impactful training and education, she has processed numerous access requests, conducted PIAs and investigated privacy breaches.

Throughout her career, she has demonstrated expertise in managing information requests, ensuring compliance with privacy legislation, and supporting staff with confidentiality protocols. Her extensive knowledge of access and privacy processes and commitment to data privacy make her a valuable asset to any organization. 

Maryann specializes in designing and delivering comprehensive access and privacy training programs tailored for public bodies. Maryann helps organizations understand and navigate complex privacy regulations. Her approach emphasizes practical application, enabling public bodies to effectively translate training insights into their own policies and practices, thereby enhancing data protection and ensuring compliance across the sector."

In addition to her impressive professional accomplishments, Maryann was awarded the prestigious Robert C. Clark Award in 2018. Maryann holds the University of Alberta Information Access and Protection of Privacy Certificate (IAPP), is a certified Professional of the Canadian Institute of Access and Privacy Professionals (CIAPP) and holds the First Nations Principles of Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession (OCAP) certificate.
