Michelle Johnson, C-IAPP

Senior Consultant, Associate

Michelle is honest, dedicated and hard-working, with a keen interest in compliance. She has over 20 years of experience working for public bodies (post-secondary institutions and Alberta school jurisdictions). She loves processing requests for access to information. 

Michelle is client focused and does her best work when in service to others and as an experienced collaborator, brings people together. Michelle understands that records management is key to processing access to information requests and this work is a key area of interest for Michelle. She has experience with large complex organizations, one of which included 9,500 employees and 120,000 students. She is a skilled organizer and managed privacy and security reviews in collaboration with both the Privacy and the Chief Information and Security Offices. In addition, she manages mandatory online privacy and security training and presentations of various lengths for all faculty and staff, and monthly in-person training sessions. In her current role, Michelle continues to train and present to in her effort to ensure greater organizational understanding and compliance.

Michelle completed the Information Access and Protection of Privacy (IAPP) Certificate Program, from the University of Alberta, with distinction, and the Fundamentals of OCAP (Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession - First Nations principles of records management).

Michelle continues her love of learning by taking online courses and attending webinars and conferences.
